Seastar Cruises Reef Day Trips

Owner description: Seastar Cruises premium reef cruise combines the outer Great Barrier Reef with a coral cay island. In only 1 1/4 hours the fast air-conditioned Seastar 1 can take you from Cairns to magnificent Michaelmas Cay, the largest of the local uninhabited coral cays. Cruising past Green Island, Upolu cay and Oyster reef Seastar is the first boat to arrive. After an enjoyable time here it is a short 20 minute cruise to the splendid Hastings Reef sitting on the very outer edge. This is where the corals thrive, well out from the coast away from the influence the rivers and streams, adjacent to the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. You will have 2 1/2 hours at each location. Plenty of time to go snorkeling, do a introductory dive, relax on the beach of the Island or join a tour in the Glass Bottom Boat at Hastings Reef. The day cruise on Seastar inlcudes Morning/Afternoon tea, high quality snorkel equipment, Wetsuit or Lycra suit (depending on the time of year), Glass Bottom Boat Tour, Hot & Cold Buffet Lunch, Reef Interpretation & Guided Snorkel Tours on each spot.

Outstanding group, the crew was amazing, very knowledgeable, friendly, fun. We had perfect weather and got to see so much life in the reef. Excellent tour!

Everything about Seastar Cruises was terrific except the boat. It wasn't as comfortable as I had hoped. The staff was FANTASTIC. Helpful, reassuring, and overall fabulous! Their knowledge was amazing and the trip was great.

We visited the reef with Seastar on 26.03.2018. Many thanks to Sven who guided my first ever dive. Great experience and wonderful memories!

The tour itself is worth it! A small group of tourists. We were the only boat at the reef locations. It makes a difference. Thanks a lot to the team! Please keep going! Elena

One of the engines wasn't working so they took longer longer to get to michaelas cay and was a bumpier ride as the boat couldn't pick up speed. Because of this, We also missed out on going to Hastings Cay.
On plus side though, The lunch was great and our safety was their great concern and kept asking if we were all ok. Had an amazing snorkelling experience. The glass boat is just a normal speed boat with one plank of glass at the bottom :/.

Fantastic! We had a great day out on the reef at Michaelmas Cay & Hastings Reef, the staff were all absolutely fantastic and explained the day in detail and were all very friendly! The reef was everything we had hoped for and more, and the boat was great, with only 36 customers on board, so there was not people everywhere! The buffet lunch was very nice also!
