When we arrived in Port Douglas it was around lunch time, we checked into our accomodation and went in search of food other than airline food. Cafe Ecco just seemed to jump out at us so we sat and ordered lunch. This cafe is situated on Macrossan Street, the main drag of Port and is an ideal place to sit and watch the passing crowd. There’s and outdoor area covered by large umbrellas, or you can eat inside should it become a little windy and wet.
The lunch we had was absolutely delicious in the form a prawn salad rolls, it sounds simple and it was simple, but attractively served and all the ingredients were very fresh and tasty, it was perfect for lunch. The service was with a smile and we could just tell that the proprietors really wanted to make an effort to be a stand out with lots of competition.
We went there a second time for breakfast on our second last day in Port and I had the typical bacon, eggs and hash brown and my wife had the eggs Florentine both of which were extremely tasty and well presented. I don’t know what bacon they use but it was the tastiest bacon I have ever had, and the coffee was pretty good as well. Congratulations to the owners as they know what it takes to earn repeat business. Good food, great service consistently served.
