Stayed in a 1-bedroom apartment at the Q1 for 5 nights.
Location was great - 200m from a patrolled beach, tram stop right in front and a 10 min walk to Cavill Ave - far enough away from the nightclubs but easy enough to get to for dinner.
Staff were friendly and helpful. There seemed to be a lot of people having problems with keys not being programmed properly. This happened to us once.
After reading reviews we requested a room with a non-zipped bed, and were put in the room behind the lift shaft. We asked to move to a quieter room before moving in, and were put in 1310.
Room size was good, although a little dark (the rooms ending in 10 have the least number of windows, from what we saw) and noisy at night (as they overlook the tram stop/main road) so probably not much better than sleeping behind the lift shaft in hindsight.
The other major problem was the lack of blockout blinds, which many others have written about in their reviews but I seemed to miss when reading the reviews before booking (otherwise I would have requested a room with block out blinds). The sun woke us before 5am daily, and lights came into the room from the streetlights and cars below at night. When we called reception on our first night, their solution was to send a staff member up to tape garbage...Stayed in a 1-bedroom apartment at the Q1 for 5 nights.

The sun woke us before 5am daily, and lights came into the room from the streetlights and cars below at night. When we called reception on our first night, their solution was to send a staff member up to tape garbage bags on the windows, which were not big enough to cover the windows anyway. This made only the slightest bit of difference, but the maintenance woman was the friendliest staff member we met on the trip! The did offer for us to try and move rooms on the next day but by then we were unpacked and couldn't be bothered moving, and just put up with it.
Bathroom was a good size, with seperate shower and small spa-bath, however sink is badly designed with the water nozzle in the strangest place which made it hard to wash your hands or do anything involving the sink without getting water everywhere.
The air conditioning worked well, but for some reason it was set to 16 when we got there and we didn't realise until before we went to bed and the room was like an ice box. We found it's sweet spot on 21 near the end of our trip and were comfortable, thankfully. With the AC turned off the humidity crests up quickly.
The closed in balcony was like a sweatbox and we didn't use it. We hung clothes out there but nothing dried in the humidity, so it was a pointless use of space. The door from the living area to the balcony was broken also.
2 TVs - one in bedroom and one in lounge room. No instructions on how to use them, however, and channels were set on different sources so hard to find but we got there eventually.
Pool area was large, however hard to navigate (you couldn't switch between the 2 outdoor pools easily). Indoor area was a muggy mess - constantly wet floors in all areas and frankly a bit of a hazard. You had to walk through the wet pool/spa area to get up the stairs to the gym, which were also wet, with no 'wet floor' signs to be seen.
Buffet breakfast upstairs was terrible and not worth $29 (even with the visit to the 77th floor included). We would not recommend this to anybody.
Would I stay here again? Yes. I'd make sure to request a room with blockout blinds, but overall the service was good, the location was great and it served it's purpose.More
