I come down here all the time to get away from the office and work and it's great. Free wifi, good tunes and great food and drink make the sweatshOp a great place to hang.

Try the Americana burger, any of the jaffles and the spider or milo frappe! Sweets are amazing too.

We arrived at 11:50 on Tuesday for lunch. Ordered a burger, a wrap, a banana smoothie and a pear and ginger fresh juice and sat at one of the six? tables inside. The drinks arrived in pickle jars about 15 minutes later. Both drinks were very good. In the ensuing 30 minutes until our food was delivered, we looked around and marvelled at the furnishings. Low cheap looking tables with plastic tam tam stools or upturned plastic beer crates with or without a sheet of beer carton cardboard for padding. Plastic milk crates on their sides as bookshelves. There were paintings on the wall and as with all art, it's up to the viewer as to what they think of it. My Malaysian Satay burger was flavoursome, but the fresh soft bread roll could have been toasted, as it was pretty soggy by the last mouthful. My wife said her chicken wrap was just average. The patrons seemed to be mainly office workers. A forty-five minute wait for food at lunch time isn't acceptable. Unless some of their other food is a stand out, I don't see what the attraction is, apart from maybe a captive clientele. The decor may be Melbournian and trendy for some, but in reality it's uncomfortable, noisy and is for all sakes and purposes a struggling university student's digs with a kitchen.

The off beat decoration and furnishing, and general warm, familial environment inside.Unexpected and wonderful, in my head it is to Townsville what Bar Doppio is to Alice Springs.

As above. Good coffee. Good burgers. Increasing selection of tasty cakes. Great service, excellent atmosphere and artwork. I don't understand why you'd go to a chain when stuff like this exists?
