What a wonderful portrayed piece of our history to be educated on. The history tour was fascinating & very informative but the “Her Story” was our favourite with the interactive acting...a very emotional re enactment on a female convicts life spent at the prison...do yourself a huge favour and do the both...history tour followed by Her Story...

It was great to see women and all human beings are not treated like this in prison anymore but also good to see that some of them went on and had good lives and helped in building Australia to be the better place it is now in so many ways. They were true past examples of Helen Reddie's song " I am Woman"..... Well worth the visit. It helps you appreciate what we have now.

This is a contrast to Port Arthur, seeing the prison system from the point of view of the women who were transported. Unfortunately not much physical remains are left but enough to give a good idea of what the place was like. We had a very good guide who was interested, passionate and informative. The reception staff was also helpful and friendly. There is a small souvenir/book shop on site. We traveled easily to the site on Public Transport Metro bus from Franklin Square.

We live in Hobart and have visited many times. This is a place steeped in history and the guided tours give a great perspective on how difficult times were back in the day. Wonderful volunteers and staff.
