“Rooms with a view”

During our recent trip to Hobart, we stayed four nights at Queen’s Domain View. We were awed by the view of Mount Wellington and the Derwent River. The city lights of Hobart and of the bridge over the Derwent River were magical.

The apartment is like a home away from home with all the amenities required to make your stay a comfortable one. The kitchen has the necessary condiments, sauces and utensils to cook up a storm if you choose to do so. For those who travel light, you can find a washing machine and a dryer included. You can wash your clothes as washing powder is also included.

The apartment is clean and well maintained. It is modern with an eclectic mix of pictures hanging on the walls. The bed is comfortable and there are ample pillows. Both the bedroom and the hall have heaters.

For those who like walks, it is nestled on a hill with a walking path. The path is about 2km is length. There is also another walking path that meanders along the river bank of the Derwent river.

Just a 2 minutes drive, one can find a patrol station, Woolworth’s, bakery and butcher’s shop.

Jill is a pleasant and knowledgeable host who knows Hobart and Tasmania well. So, do not hesitate to ask her for advice on where to go.

Thanks so much Brandon, I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay. I have done my very best to make the apartment just that- a home away from home- and it looks as though I succeeded! Welcome back anytime! Jill

“Million Dollar View - Fabulous Stay!”

Queen's Domain View is a modern, clean, self- contained apartment with everything you need to enjoy your stay in Hobart, Just a few minutes drive to the city, Salamanca precinct and MONA, this little gem is in a perfect location: it is quiet and the views over the water and Mount Wellington are breathtaking.
Jill is the perfect host: friendly, helpful and a font of information - no questions about where to go and what to do were left unanswered!
I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hobart - and I'm very fussy!!

“Home from Home, every comfort you could think of at a high standard with a stunning view.”

Warm and homely with host's character shining through the property. Newly refurbished to a high standard, extremely clean and easy to maintain. Take comfortable shoes for the many walks and drop into the Aproneers for b'fast/brunch. Well located out of the hustle & bustle, but not far to travel into Hobart. Stunning view over the Derwent river. Need a car and a relatively steep driveway, but you don't get views without elevation! Highly recommended.

Liked least: Booking through FlipKey - hopeless, quoted US$ & no info on directions or key pick up. I had to contact the Owner.

Thanks so much for your review Leah...we do say in the property view that you definitely need a car... whilst we are only 8 minutes from the Hobart CBD, like all small cities ( and Hobart is a town rather than a city )our bus services are awful...to get around successfully anywhere in Tasmania you need your own transport. Glad you enjoyed your stay...Jill

“Beautiful space with excellent veiws”
Reviewed 21 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Clean, very well appointed accommodation with great views across the water towards Hobart. Very good service from the host, especially loved the beauty products provided in the bathroom. A car is a definite must for this property however, as public transport is tricky away from the city. Overall a wonderful stay

Glad you loved your stay, and yes a car is a must nomatter where you stay in Hobart( web are literally 8 mins across the bridge!) or Tasmanian as we say on the listing, as with most rural towns in Aus, public transport leaves a lot to be desired. Happy travels!
