Dear Anna S
Thank you very much for sharing your experience here at Hotel Lindrum.
I am so pleased to read that you enjoyed everything and found us welcoming.
We look forward to seeing you again.
Hotel Lindrum is a small boutique hotel with lots of "Melbourne " style. The reception/bar/restaurant area is beautifully decorated with lovely light fittings, stylish use of wood and art works but still retains its historical character. The location is excellent , walking distance to NGV, theatres and many great restaurants. The staff were very helpful....many thanks to the Dutch young lady who was very pleasant. We were travelling with a friend and the bar area with its gas fire was a delightful & intimate area to meet and have a drink on returning from a show. We look forward to staying again at this lovely, boutique hotel.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the rest of the tripadvisor community.
I am pleased to hear you enjoyed our decor. The history of the building is definitely what shapes the Lindrum, together with the great team. I will be sure to share your feedback to Hilde, she will be thrilled to read this.
We look forward to having you back in our venue very shortly.
Nice place to stay in Melbourne. The staff is really friendly and the location is great. Not in the center but not far from it and very close to the yard river. Nice breakfast is served. I would return.
Dear R S
Thank you for providing us the review of your stay at Hotel Lindrum.
I am so pleased you fond the team to be friendly and the location to be convenient.
I will pass on your kind words to front of house team as well as the kitchen team.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
I am currently experiencing several WTF per hour, so I decided to take a sneaky Melbourne getaway and stay at Hotel Lindrum (it’s a prequel to my holiday on Sunday).
Hotel Lindrum is for the distinguished traveller, one who enjoys a single malt whisky by the fireplace, coupled with the classical music playing in the background. They have a good selection of Whisky at the bar, I always feel at home when the hotel I’m staying in has my favourite Wednesday Whisky which is Lagavulin, just brilliant.
I stayed in a superior suite, and enjoyed two nights getting lost in my beautiful king sized bed. My room was very spacious, and had complete block out of all noise and light, yep it was exactly what the Dr ordered.
It’s located bang smack in the middle of the city, a 30 second walk to the Press Club (yum), 3 minute walk to federation square and the NGV. The staff where very accommodating and friendly. If you are looking for a hotel to stay in for a Melbourne getaway, that offers style, and peace n quiet, this is the place to go.
Thank you for sharing your experience at Hotel Lindrum with fellow travelers.
I am pleased to hear that you had a relaxing time at Lindrum. As a small boutique hotel, we try our best in providing cozy, comfortable stay via service, decor and furniture. We are also very fortunate to be located near so many amazing restaurants of Melbourne as you pointed out.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel very shortly.
This is a great city hotel - you're close enough to everything (you're literally on the fringe of the city) but yet away from it all. Case in point, the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens is around the corner and so are all the major tram lines.
The thing to remember is that it is one if Melbourne's first boutique hotel. The building dates back to 1847 and the hotel opened for business in 1999 so if i'm to be fair, it's starting to show its age and could do with a refresh. It's looking slightly dated. Everything is serviceable, and if i'm not the fussy sort, no big deal. But if i'm to pitch it against the 5* properties I've had the good fortune to stay at, then this will fall quite short.
But as a leisure traveller, I don't see the issue. The staff are friendly and helpful. Location's brilliant. Beds are comfy. Bathrooms are clean. But if you want more, then maybe consider sister property Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. It's swankier.
I was in room 404 and my only gripe is that the windows face another building - I like to wake up to natural sunlight. Housekeeping was lovely and kept trying to let some in. It's also a room that is close to Flinders St (a very busy city street). I used to live in Melbourne for many years and found the sounds of the trams & trains soothing. That hasn't changed. But I can see it being a problem for most and would avoid.
But I would recommend this hotel for it's convenience and also the fact that it is removed from the chaos of the city centre.
Thank you for sharing your experience at Hotel Lindrum with the fellow travellers.
We are pleased to hear that you had a pleasant stay. We are very fortunate to be located where we are. The deluxe room which faces the Flinders street has a plenty of natural sun light come through so for next stay, I would definitely recommend booking that room. If you need any other assistance for the next stay, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We hope to see you soon at the hotel.
I used to stay at this hotel almost weekly when we had an office nearby. I haven't had the opportunity to return, but did so last week. The hotel remembered and wrote a personal "welcome back after 8 years" note. It was impressive. The service and accommodation was as good as I remembered.
