Amazing variety of native flora, flowers that are of a myriad of colours. Very close to city centre and yet so peaceful as if you are in the country side. Good restaurants around the gardens.

We took overseas visitors to the gardens and they loved it! It's leafy, green, well maintained with walkways and interesting plants. The Chinese garden and gondolas on the lake are a lovely addition. Although it was busy, it was peaceful and because it is so expansive there is plenty of space. The cafe is a great place to stop for a coffee or other refreshments. Great views of the city and Yarra from various places.

I came here twice but still fancy the plants here. Would be great if you're a nature lover. Peaceful, quiet and great for a long walk.

Absolutely beautiful. The gardens meander gently and you can spend an afternoon wandering down all the paths exploring all the areas of the gardens. Well worth a visit!

Decided to include a walk through these gardens as part of an extended walk during our first visit to Melbourne. The wildlife around the lake gave my wife a surprise but the area was very pleasant and worth a look. Rained heavily whilst we were there so had to shelter on a couple of occasions but was a chance to meeting other people at the gardens both local and visitors. Although to best of the summer colour had gone there were some very impressive plants
