Description: The Carlton salon opens late to cater for the evening crowd in the busy Lygon St precinct. The upstairs lounge offers a haven of relaxation, contemplation and rejuvenation, allowing customers to sit down and enjoy the magic of chocolate in their own little nook.We love the specialty desserts menu available exclusively at the Carlton salon, created by head pastry chef, Adam Tippins. The menu changes seasonally, which means there is always something new to discover.

Worth a visit if you're in town. My favs are the Cassis and Strawberry chocolates. Sometimes can be too crowded with tourists and college students who don't end up buying anything. Their hot chocolate smells divine as well. Love it. Plenty of variety here although not much seating.

As a chocolate lover, I was lured by the aroma of coffee, which I ordered. As I waited, browsing the chocolate products, it was apparent the quality and combinations set this chocolatier apart from the 'ordinary lolly' shop.
The product is pricy, if you just see it as confectionary, but when viewed as a hand-made luxurious food indulgence, the outlay is an investment in culinary enjoyment.
The coffee was smooth, robust and enjoyable, in a street full of baristas, this is a pleasant surprise. As a point of difference, the choc dust is replaced with Koko Black milk choc shavings.
Didn't disappoint an enjoyer of coffee and chocolate.

The best hot chocolate ever. We had the Orange Zest infused hot chocolate, limited edition apparently. Just delicious especially with a salted caramel chocolate. Very rich and really hot which I loved.

Had dessert at Koko Black after dinner and decided I should have not had tea first. The chocolate selection is amazing and worth a call in at any time. The vanilla bean icecream with chocolate sauce was sensational.

Just lovely. Dessert was delicious and service very prompt. Gateau was divine; ice cream was smooth and tasty with either warmed chocolate or caramel sauce. Nice to see gluten free options. Great tea!
Do yourself a favour - it's decadent !!
