“Best Gua Bao Pork Belly!”
Review of White & Wong's

White & Wong's
Ranked #60 of 2,450 Restaurants in Auckland Central
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$17 - US$80
Description: White + Wong's 'East meets West' cuisine takes classic street foods from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand - the noodles, soups, curries and delicious dumplings - and created an eclectic menu to pick and choose from to suit. Flavoursome Massaman and red curry pastes made from scratch. Oysters, and sashimi with freshly ground wasabi root. We're not purists, so if it's tasty, White + Wong's are steaming it, frying it and serving it up fresh and fast. In some dishes you'll find untouched classics like the Bang Bang chicken and BBQ pork buns, while others, whole Peking Ducks, numbing & fragrant prawns and BBQ meats are our take on Chinese street food, tweaked and re-imagined. White + Wong's brings big and fresh Asian flavours to the central viaduct, right on the water.

I went with a friend last Saturday.
We ordered for wagyu beef shumai,
gua bao chinese roast pork belly, egg fuyong & green papaya salad.

All were tasty. But the best one I enjoyed the most was the gua bao chinese roast pork belly. My friends on the hand, liked the wagyu beef shumai.

All the foods they served were delicious
and portions were big enough for sharing.
The only let down was the drinks. I ordered ginger ale. But the glass was full of ice that the soft drinks tasted like water.

Suggest to separate the ice from the glass so you can see how much soft drinks did they really put in your glass.

Went here with a group on Saturday night. Busy but very efficient.
The food was all delicious - large sized meals too.
The cocktails were equally as nice.
All very nicely presented but not too much that it detracted from the meal as some restaurants do.

We had a fantastic meal at White and Wongs, Surhud (the waiter) was fantastic, a font of knowledge, great advice on what to choose and an absolute pleasure to be served by. Food was sensational, top marks to chefs, the service was great all staff were brilliant we honestly could not fault the place! Would highly recommend!

They call the bottled cranberry juice a Shanghai Noon Mocktail, pour it in a fancy glass and charge a fortune for it.
Service was slow and unfriendly, food took ages to come.
... and, at the counter, we were charged twice for one of our main.

We have now been here twice. Both times in a group of 6 people, and have been seated in room with a round table which makes it easy for a group conversation.
Both times the food has been fantastic. We shared everything, which is a great way of trying all the fantastic flavors. I don't think I could pick a favorite dish as they have all be very tasty.
GREAT place.
