Friday evening, the begining of the Waitangi weekend. The evening sun is setting but the summer warmth is still in the air and the tide still out. Dinner calls.
A wedding party, in a closed-off area, just settling down to their celebrations. Table for two, water, glance at the menu and there is much choice. The other tables started to fill up for the evening.
Shared the squid rings and prawns. The glass of Cloudy Bay bubbly a good selection.
Fish of the day fillets ( orange roughy ) arrived moist and succulent. A new discovery and an appreciation, by me, for this much overlooked species. A glass of pinot grii just as good.
Shared the trio of ice-cream to finish the evening.
A busy evening for Windross but the staff manage to get our plates to us in god time. This is our "local" so to speak.
Will keep it "our local". Walk there and walk back.
