The Quadrant Hotel and Suites Auckland

Booked a two bed apartment for my family on our return to Auckland from a tour of South Island prior to my flight home to the U.K.

The lounge area is roomy with two good sized bedrooms and a kitchenette. The balcony affords a lovely view of the harbour. There was a washer dryer in the bathroom, made a lovely job of washing our clothes but refused to dry anything which was a shame. Staff attempted to mend it but still didn't work. The kitchenette has a fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, hob and dishwasher. The only downside was that there was a dirth of cutlery, crockery and pans. Tons of cupboard space with nothing in!

The hotel is beautifully situated opposite Albert Park and just a short stroll through the park to Queen St (the main thoroughfare)

Staff were smiling and helpful.

Valet parking great, car was brought up and put away in a flash, made life very simple.

Nice bar area and hot tub with removable doors (lovely to open them up on a warm spring evening)

All in all, a lovely hotel and good value for money.

Stayed here for just one night to attend a concert at Spark Arena. The Quadrant is close to the arena and not a bad price for that location. We were in a two-bed apartment, which is supposed to accommodate four people. There was only one small sofa which would have been cosy even with just three people. There were a couple of plug-in heaters, one with broken legs (not very safe). The ‘fully equipped’ kitchen (as advertised) had only 3 sets of crockery/cutlery, only 1 small pot, no frypan (but there was a fry spatula). The oven had no shelves and no oven trays. The microwave didn’t work. So we had to reheat our food in the oven, on plates, just sitting on the bottom of the oven. In the morning we tried to cook toast while scrambling eggs in the pot, but every time we turned the toaster on it tripped out the electricity for the whole apartment. To be fair, when we called reception they turned up with another toaster quite quickly. The welcome folder had sections with info, but the section marked ‘room info’ was empty. There was no sponge or cloth for washing dishes, we used one of the towels instead. The room was basic and a bit tired around the edges. The hotel is in a quiet area and the bed was comfy. We didn’t use the valet parking at $35, but parked just down the road $1 per hour until 6pm, then it’s free right through Sunday, so it only cost us a few dollars.

It was only 3 stars I felt. $35 for parking. Stayed as going to vector however hills were very steep. Sheets like plastic. Parking we did not use as you could not get your own car and always had to wait. We would not stay again

We stayed here one night for a concert at Spark Arena. Proximity to the venue was one of the reasons we stayed here and it is very handy. If you're looking for luxury you won't find it here - the decor is dated and bathroom a bit pokey - but it was clean and comfortable and very quiet, which is why I like staying in hotels away from the restaurants and bars. The staff were very friendly. We did the full buffet breakfast which, again, isn't fine dining, but wasn't shabby either. We were upgraded and had a room with a balcony overlooking the port/harbour. I certainly wouldn't pay $35 to have my car valet parked. Parking on the street nearby is only $1 per hour on Saturday until 6pm and free on Sunday so our parking from 4pm Saturday to 10.30am Sunday only cost us $2. There is a Wilson carpark nearby if you particularly want under cover parking.

Had this really bad customer service from the receptionist named "Dong", we asked for his help which he completely ignored for a good 10 minutes, then i had to ask him again for his help, which he pretended it was his first time hearing from us.

pretty appalling customer service, he needs a talk from the manager.
