We stayed one night to attend an event. Didn't want to spend too much but needed somewhere central. It was a good a walk down to the Viaduct, (20-25 minutes) but easy bus service back up the hill. I wouldn't recommend if you need to be close to bottom end of Queen street.

Hotel is very clean, friendly and comfortable. Reasonably priced but no extra touches. If it cost more, I would probably begin to feel a bit disappointed.

VR does what it promises and does so professionally.

Room tip: Queen Street is a long street!

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and would recommend it to others. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and modern and it is in a good position for exploring central Auckland.

We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the food. My only criticism is that it not very busy so it lacked some atmosphere but again the waitress was friendly and helpful and it is great if you are tired after a day sight-seeing.

Spent the New Year's Eve at Auckland to witness the fireworks display. The hotel was very accessible to the Sky City where we witnessed the fireworks display and joined the New Year's countdown party. Our room was very clean with nice shower with all necessary amenities provided for us. The staffs were friendly and accomodating to provide us a good room service. The kitchen is very modern despite being small. Overall, me and my friends were giving VR Queen Street a thumbs up for our superb stay in Auckland.

Location: on top of a hill so can be a struggle to walk to. Otherwise the city is reasonably accessible
Parking: on site parking is very expensive offstreet parking is difficult to find
Service: disappointing. Felt like we were being an imposition on the staff!
Room: for what was supposed to be a 4-5 star hotel pretty average. Cramped rooms, poor television and channels.

Not a place to stay while in Auckland. Do not get for the price you pay. Very outdated. Rooms are very basic and smell old and stagnant. Service is appalling, no effort made to deal with our queries. Staff need more training in dealing with people. Will not return with a family and will not recommend this hotel to anyone

Dear Valued guest,
I think this case is about a mistaken identity, you have not stayed with us and written a review which is misleading about our property. Kindly let me know your booking name and date of stay on my email vrq.gm@vrhotels.co.nz.
