We spent several nights in this Motel as a group. There was off-street parking. Shops of all types handy. Great walking paths along the beachfront. The rooms were comfortable and clean with a variety of options. All upstairs rooms looked over the ocean. Also had an outdoor balcony.

Room Tip: Upstairs view worth the stairs with bags.

Harbour View Lodge is in a good location. Several really good restaurants and pubs only a short walk away. Very handy to the Cities of Napier and Hastings with their quirky "art deco" architecture. Fascinating history.

Room Tip: All rooms are good and all offer water views.

Caring, friendly hosts, clean, modern facilities beachfront location with no road in between, breakfast on the patio looking out to sea, with safe swimming. Park your vehicle at your front door. Perfect!

Clean and comfortable. Bedroom lacks power point. The view is excellent. A few shops closed to the motel.
The host is friendly.
Carpark can get busy so maybe the owner can consider allocated carspace for each unit.

Harbour View has to have one of the best locations in the Napier region, with all rooms facing across Hawkes Bay, with nothing in the way - no road, no carpark, nothing. The road and carpark are effectively at the back of the motel. The view is one compensation for being a little bit away from the city centre: others include the peace and quiet, and cute Ahuriri Village. We stayed 5 nights during the Art Deco Festival, and found the location to be very convenient, given that we had a car and don't mind walking a bit. In fact, there was a shuttle bus between Ahuriri and Napier central, but we didn't use it.

Our room was large and comfortable, and had a spa bath (which we did not have time to use!) The bed was very comfortable. The room setup had windows front and back, so that the breezes could be welcomed in, and there was a small balcony with an outdoor table. The only downside to this was the smokers outside the room below, whose smoke drifted up and into our room. Still, they went inside when it started to rain!

The room had a small but functional kitchenette, which we used alternately with going out for meals (no shortage of places to eat both nearby and in Napier itself). Both kitchenette and bathroom were clean and well-maintained. There is a guest laundry with coin-operated washer and dryer, which we made good use of.

When we left after the Festival finished the man at the desk farewelled us with a cheery "See you next year." You just might!
