Wifey is quite particular about her porridge, it has to be.......just oats like mum used to make it. No coconut shavings, blueberries or compote of any type just oats, brown sugar and cream- perfect! I had eggs benny and not too shabby either. Do not leave without a custard square to go - one of the best I've had!!

Nice little cafe huge cabinet selection of foods. Thought we would order the eggs Benedict's for breakfast sauce was extremely vinegary and a lesson in poaching eggs is definitely required all of our eggs were hard not one runny yolk to be found. People seemed very content with the cabinet food. Pot of tea was extremely expensive and they gave you one tea bag only and that wasn't even in the pot.

Cooked breakfast buffet is very good. Lots to choose from. Nice location with off street parking. The only drawback is that some of the staff could be a lot friendlier and more patient, especially those behind the counter.

Dropped in here for lunch. Reception is friendly and the food presented in the displays looked quite good - standard NZ cafe selections. We ordered lunch off the menu. The first attempt to deliver our order was wrong, but rectified reasonably quickly. The corn fritters were almost inedible (suspect they were made by stirring sweet corn kernels into a commercial pancake batter mix, and then not cooking it through properly). The attempt to make it look modern by swishing balsamic creme across the plate should have gone out of fashion by now, but is alive and well here. Our other order was fish and chips - these were OK, but the fish wasn't that day fresh and cooked a little dry. We decided not to stay for coffee. The cost for the food was reasonable, but the quality meant we weren't at all keen to head back there. To be fair, if we had gone for cake and coffee, the outcome may have been quite different. The kitchen needs a shakeup.

This cafe is hidden away in a back street of Ahuriri and is well worth the drive around to fine even if it is view the old wool stores in the area. It is a cute cafe with a wonderful food selection, reasonable with friendly and helpful staff and to top it off on a nice day pets can come too and sit in the lovely sheltered courtyard. Their iced coffee is the best I have had in Napier so delicious and full of all the goodies that are bad for you but this is definitely a why not! Sundays they serve a buffet breakfast again reasonably priced. A wonderful spot to sit and reflect and enjoy the wide range of clients they have including the mature bikers who pop in for coffee and I understand the Mens Shed group also frequent this cafe.
