We visited the treaty grounds on our recent trip to Paihia!

We arrived in time for the first tour at 10 and were treated to a great guide who was engaging with the group as well as providing all of the need to know facts.

Personally learnt a lot about how sophisticated the elders were which was great.

The 11am cultural performance was very entertaining and educational.

Would highly recommend this to anyone in the area and all funds from your entry fee go to maintaining this national landmark which is an added bonus!

I totally recommend visiting Waitangi Treaty Grounds to learn the history of NZ. The grounds are beautiful, the guides very knowledgeable and the performance touches your soul. Totally amazing experience.

This was an outstanding visit. I thought we would kind of just blow in and out, having no idea just how extensive the presentations were. We ended up spending hours and hours. The visitors' center, the museum, the grounds, the gift shop, and (in the evening) the hangi and cultural performance were all impressive. Spend your $$ and time and see it all at leisure. In particular, we had an outstanding guide who walked us around the grounds and filled our heads with all kinds of interesting facts and stories. He spoke very clearly, did not belabor any particular point but knew when to move things along, and plainly enjoyed his job. Plus, the headsets we were given to wear are the best headsets I've ever encountered on a walking or bus tour. This day was a real highlight of our visit to NZ.

Walked 2km from Paihia easy. Spent most day wandering around after guided tour great guy real character. Then cultural performance great too. Museum done really well easy to spend couple hours in here. Gift shop quite expensive. Go if you get chance.
