We asked the owner why he named his shop 'Ali Baba' and he said because it was an easy name for customers to remember. Nothing 'Ali Baba' about this kebab shop. The kebabs were delicious and juicy. Portions were also large. The baklava was also wonderful.
Good place to eat 'halal' food in Rotorua.

Went here on a recommendation. Got chicken berzer (rice, chicken, yummy sauce, salad) and a chicken pizza with garlic mayo and sweet chilli on sauce. Also a lamb karuche and all of it was amazing. Fed 3 very generously for $43. Very friendly staff. Will go back many times.

don't know what to say here....been in places exactly like this from Manhattan to Prague to London to Reykjavik to Rotorua. Nothing distinguished about this except for the absolutely delightful woman who took care of us. Then apparently the owner came in who was a bit more morose and things quieted down a bit. Food was very good. I got something called Kutshrute, I think, with chicken. I'd personally opt away from the sauces because the "secret" sauce on it (Berber sauce?) was more than good enough. My wife got a kebab. Again, very good. Would I go back. yes. But this is a takeaway. a good takeaway. Everything was fresh and the place was reasonably clean.
