Owner description: Famous for a reason, Skyline Rotorua is your ticket to an unforgettable holiday. Begin your day with a tranquil Gondola ride up Mt Ngongotaha overlooking Lake Rotorua then wind your way down via the Luge or if you prefer to descend by mountain bike, weave your way through one of the newly created Gravity Park trails. Get the adrenalin pumping even more on the Zoom Zipline and the Sky Swing. Or for a more relaxed approach take a stroll through the stunning nature trails with informative and interactive panels along the way. Left feeling a little peckish? Head to the Food Market Kitchen or the Stratosfare Restaurant & Bar to fuel up again. While you’re there, why not also pop into the Volcanic Hills Wine Tasting Room and Winery while the kids explore the Jelly Belly Gallery and Store. Finish the day with an out-of-this world experience during Skyline’s Stargazing tour. It’ll have you exploring constellations and discovering planets invisible to the naked eye, at one of the top eight stargazing locations in New Zealand. The Skyline Rotorua complex is just 5 minutes’ drive from central Rotorua, sitting atop Mt Ngongotaha providing unsurpassed views of New Zealand’s coolest hot spot. The skyline Rotorua offers a variety of activities once you get up there, but the fun starts at the bottom of the mountain where you can take the breathtaking view of Rotorua in when you take the gondola up the mountain. The view is great both day time or night time. A must in Rotorua

Offers great views over Rotorua. Many options here for thrill seekers. We were put off doing the Luge as there was a 40 min wait. While having a bite to eat we overheard a lady say they gave up waiting as it had taken them an hour and they were still not at the start.
It was Easter Sunday when we were there so that may have been the reason. Bonus was when my husband just happened to ask what age qualified as senior and when told 60 we got in for half price. $31 usually for an adult Gondola ride only.
If you go on the Luge you come back up on ski like chairlifts and ride back down in the Gondola to the car park.
Food options were varied and looked appealing.

Admittedly we visited during Easter weekend, when it was very busy but the system for lines up the top are poorly managed. There needs to be someone guarding the lines or more clarity over the different lines (first riders/second time riders with priority) up the top as there were several ‘debarcles’ with people being upset that others were pushing in line with no one to police it. It was a very hot day and after 45 minutes of waiting to hop on you are ready for something spectacular. The luge track however was awesome and very safe, well signposted. The staff are good on safety and make sure people are not being unsafe. The gondola ride is also beautiful. (Both, including the chairlift) awesome day out for everyone.

Described as a 5 star dinning experience and that's exactly what you get. The food, staff and views are amazing. I would definitely go back.

The view from the top isn’t as breathtaking as queenstown skyline, but the luge tracks are better. They’re better maintained and more thrilling, we couldn’t recommend enough! Although be careful on that advanced track, coming into the end lanes too hot chewed my leg (and shorts) up good when the luge went over - see pic
