Okay right off the back, I have to say that our host made the entire night AWESOME! One of the members of our group was selected as the "chief" of the night and that was the joke of the night. From the authentic way they cook their food to the entertainment, everyone in our group enjoyed themselves.
The music during their performances were awesome! The power and harmony in their songs is something that still resonates with me. The lead person in the show made us laugh while giving a great educational background of Maori culture.

Dinner was in a heated tent (it was about 3 degrees C that night) buffet style. The food, desert, and drink was the best I had in my entire stay in NZ. After dinner, our host took us on a very educational guided walk around the area. We saw cold water springs, Maori homes and tools, and even glow worms!

*Being from Hawaii, I think it was easy to draw parallels from Hawaiian culture to that of the Maoriʻs. The "chief" of the night was from our group. The host allowed his to do a talk in Hawaiian language and the rest of us to chant in Hawaiian which made the night for all!

Mahalo nui loa to the host of the Mitai Maori Village as well as the dining workers, performers, and all staff for a memorable night!

What a great night, our first night in Rotorua and so glad we booked this. It was a great demonstration of Maori history and culture, followed by a YUMMY Hangi dinner and dessert. But it didn't stop there, off we went on a walk through the forest learning about the fauna and Maori legends. There was a bubbling pond and fantastic glow worms, the kids (haha and me) were in awe. Our guide and MC for the night was truly memorable, so charismatic and really made the night special! Great job Mitai! Highly Recommend.

The evening was very educational and the food was good. The stroll through the rainforest and a glimpse of glow worms was lovely.

The staff at the event were incredible (wasn't a fan of the bus driver) and was wonderful to get an insight into their Maori culture. Plenty of delicious food for dinner and cheap spirits at the bar. I was hoping for an overwhelming view of glow worms, but it was just some here and there it was nice none the less though. Also because it does involve bush walking including in the dark, I recommend being careful if you're not a great walker or a child
