We stayed 3 nights to attend a sports competition group of 24. We were impressed with the bedroom and kitchen size, one house can accommodate 12-13 persons, good shower pressure. Efficient check in and service daily. Helpful information guide and walking distance to restaurants, grocery, pubs, casino & Hagley Park. The attic rooms are too hot during summer season. They offer room service breakfast but the Pavillion next door quite handy for buffet breakfast. Highly Recommended for everyone! W/ free Wi-fi & Full equip Kitchen.

Room Tip: Pick a room away from the pool and spa as usual group party till 3 am loud & noisy

The first room we were given had blood on the wall and on a light switch. Not sure how that was missed when cleaning. The kitchen was dirty, the shower head was broken and so dribbled water out which made showering difficult. The bedside lamp had no lightbulb and the wifi wouldn’t work for any of us. We were able to switch rooms in the morning after some hesitation from reception for the rest of our stay.

We stayed here for one night in a 2 bedroom family unit. The unit was very spacious, clean and with comfortable beds. There was a bedroom and bathroom downstairs sleeping three and then a mezzanine bedroom and ensuite upstairs sleeping three. It was a little dated but nothing wrong with that, as long as you know to expect it and the location was really good, quite a short drive into the centre of Christchurch and easy to get around. There are plenty of options within walking distgance for eating and many more within a short drive. The only problem was that we were on the road front and the traffic was constant on a Saturday night - it never stopped. Maybe ask for a room away from the road if you are light sleepers.

Room Tip: Away from the road

Pros:
• Helpful staff
• Plenty of room and a good kitchen space
• Central location near Hadley Park
• Quiet and low light levels for sleeping (even had a blackout blind for the kitchen window)

Cons:
• Parking could be a bit tight in places, but you could park in any spot
• Mattress was too firm (I woke up sore, but my wife was fine)
• Water pressure in shower was weak, but kitchen tap spurted out
• The fridge was turned off when we arrived. The manager explained it was because the room had not been occupied for a while; however, someone should have attended to it before we checked in. If we hadn’t noticed it ourselves, our groceries could have spoiled

Room Tip: Make sure the fridge is turned on

There was a lot to change in this motel! Entering the room, it was dark even if you turn all the lights on. The beds were not the best, very uncomfortable. The bathroom MUST be upgraded! They don’t use normal toilet paper, they use these tiny sheets that you find in public toilets. Try use all in one shampoo, condition and shower gel dispenser! Who uses that in our days?? So cheap! The shower is small and needs upgrade! No fan in the bathroom. Kitchen facilities are very low! The place looks good from the outside and it’s pretty close to everything which was pretty good! All I can advice is that little things matter and make a good impression to the guests and I didn’t see that in this motel.
