I stayed here with my adult offspring when we had to have a few nights of nights in Christchurch for a funeral and the owners couldn't have been nicer or more helpful and understanding. We had one of the older 2 bedroom cottages which was a bit dated and could do with a spruce up but it had 2 bunks in one room and a double bed in the other which would be great for a family to stay in. The kitchen was adequate with everything you needed for cooking a meal with a fridge and a microwave and there was a sofa and dining table & chairs. The shower room was large and the shower adequate. It's location was excellent for us and really we were only there to sleep at night. Other rels had one of the newer two bedroom units and it was very nice and modern and they were very happy with it. The gardens are beautiful and the owners take great pride in these . There are the usual laundry facilities , playground and it is close to most of the shopping centres. There is heaps of parking outside each unit. Well worth having a look at if you are travelling with a family -plenty of room to spread around.

Room Tip: Dependant on your need there are lots of options, ring the owners and discuss these to get the best deal.

As owners of a motel we consider ourselves to be quite critical regarding the quality and facilities provided at other motels. We stayed two nights in a studio unit that has been rebuilt from floor to ceiling because of the earthquakes and we understand that most of their accommodation has been refurbished as well. It was a beautiful unit, with a very comfy bed, great shower and all the amenities we could wish for as well as a heat pump and car parking at the door. Set back from the busy main road the park-like grounds have a central playground so children can be seen from all units.
We would not hesitate to recommend Middlepark Motel, Christchurch to any of our guests requiring accommodation in Chch.

We stayed at the motel because we had family staying whilst their house was renovated and they put them in the grottiest cottage (a 70s two bedroom shed) and charged them $220 per night for the privilege. We were supposed to be in a similar cottage but they moved us to the motel which was better but hadn't been renovated since the 80s as well. The family had booked for a month and I think it's disgusting how they were treated by the owners!

This motel is very overpriced very outdated and tired rooms. Carpets need a very good clean. On the plus side set well back from road and very quiet but that is the only plus. The owner was not very helpful with TV reception problems.

We stayed with our family and found that the grounds were great for the kids to run around in. Set well back from the road, no boy racer noise which was great. The rooms were clean, new heat pumps installed. The shower pressure was hopeless, but understandable for Christchurch.
