“Gorgeous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2012

The sofitel was pefect and in the best location. It is a short walk to everything, bars, restaurants, tour pick ups, the water and playgrounds for kids. The beds were so comfortable and everything was very tastily decorated. The staff was very nice and very attentive. The only thing that annoyed me was that the wi-fi was not free but that is a small complaint. The gym is horrible, really bad with just three machines and the treadmill did not even work so don't count on working out indoors. There is a great running path around the lake if you are a runner. Everyone should visit Queenstown and if you go stay at the Sofitel. Also, if you go eat at the COW, we love it!

Room Tip: High floor

The Sofitel was perfect. It isn't on the Lake - but we purposely booked it for the central location which is where we needed to be. Short walk to the bars and restaurants, and it was beautiful. Very tastily decorated in lots of gorgeous colours and textures - very classic and glamourous.
It was a romantic weekend away and the hotel fitted in perfectly with helpful staff and a room to die for. I really wanted to take that bathroom home! Big bath big enough for two, cumfy bed and lots of space. It was rather pricey - but it really delivered and looked the part.
Had a great time and we will be back :) Oh and the food from Vie (the restaurant) was devine - on the pricey side again, but worth every cent. Thanks Sofitel!

Excellent hotel, We could not find fault anywhere. The room was well equipped and spacious, the restaurant staff were very good and we had a delicious meal. This hotel is also in a good position . Overall an excellent choice for us at the end of our New Zealand holiday
