Delicious fresh seafood in a warm environment. We could have had takeaways but met up with some other lovely people in the caravan so we ate there.

Delicious fresh local cod and bluff oysters. A must do for lunch and dinner. Best fish and chips ive had. Cod is so yummy as are bluffies.

The small dining area outside, or inside are nice places to sit if you fancy a snack, and they offer a take away service too. I sampled the Blue Cod in batter, which is an extremely nice fish when it is cooked well, as it is here. Staff are also extremely friendly.

KaiKart meals are cheaper than those served at South Sea Hotel. This is because it is primarily a "take-away" food place rather than a restaurant although there is some seating available.

The service is warm and prompt. The Blue Cod Fish & Chips is divine. At $11.50 (8$ for the fish and $3.50 for a full portion of chips), it is the cheapest F&C on Stewart Island but is no less delectable. The fish is fresh and the batter wonderfully scrumptious.

The serve generous-sized burgers as well and these seem popular, but we've not tried them.

Note that they close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and open only for lunch and dinner on the other days.
