This is our 2nd stay this year at the Albury Classic. The rooms are spacious and clean with small kitchen facilities. Lovely Bbq and pool area.
The only complaint we had was a couple of large motorbikes starting up outside everyone's rooms at 5.15 in the morning!! They were extremely loud, and after speaking with other people staying at the motel, we weren't the only ones that were rudely woken. I found this extremely rude and inconsiderate of the bike riders. Please suggest in future, that they push their machines further from the rooms before starting them up!!

Would definitely stay here again comfortable, quiet and reasonable in price. Owner very welcoming and helpful went above and beyond. Rooms had great decor a homey feel and had microwaves toasters, etc. Close to shops and takeaway places.

We had a room accessed behind the external stairs so no noisy passing foot traffic. The room was well appointed considering the motel was older than some. It was clean and comfortable and a generous size. I believe the owner has recently replaced a manager (maybe?) and he was very accommodating with nothing being a problem.

After 5 years away from the Albury Classic Motel Allan is once again back in charge,it may take a little while for him to get the place back to what it was when he left it but if my stay last night is any indication, the service he provides is still first class.

Room Tip: Book early, it used to be very popular with families and travelling salesmen filling the motel regul...

We expected the motel to be a bit older and dated as the motel's website was quite honest and open about that, however even taking into account the very reasonable tariff our room was less than satisfactory. We had checked online reviews and they were mostly very good, so I am still at a loss as to how different they were from our own experience.
The overall impression of the room was dark, sparse and uninspiring, but again that possibly fits with the age and price of the motel. However there were so many little issues (each of which would be very minor in isolation, but put all together made the room very uninviting).
Just some of those minor issues were: No clock radio (despite being part of the room description). The bathroom has no exhaust fan and no air freshener provided, the shower although clean and great water pressure has a shower curtain that sticks to you rather than a door. Internal doors have cracked and missing veneer. Before you even open the front door you are met with cracked tiles at the entrance.
As previously stated, none of these would be a big issue by themselves but all together they leave a poor impression.
The most concerning issue for us was the dirty carpet. The first thing we saw when we opened the door was a big stain in the doorway and there were more throughout the room. The room had a faint odour that we assumed was musty from perhaps not being opened recently but opening windows didn't get rid of it. We later found out that the rooms are "pet friendly", so the odour coupled with the stains are a bit concerning.
There was also a slow leak from behind the toilet or the cistern somewhere that meant there was always a wet spot in the bathroom, although to be fair management may be unaware of that until someone informed them (which we did when we left).
The motel also advertises Austar but this was unavailable at the time. Apparently it was only the fourth day for new owners and there were issues with the changeover.
The free wifi was excellent on day one when the motel was almost empty but didn't work at all the second night due to the high usage from patrons (Owner said he was also unable to log on).
We should have expressed these concerns to the owner straight away but didn't want to be a nuisance as he was actually very friendly and courteous when greeting us and explained that they had just taken over. However I did email details of my experience as soon as we got home, prior to reviewing, however two days later I have not received a response.
