We noticed there're more than 30 ppls lives in the same very old house. It's way overcrowded. There's no privacy as every time you walk on the tired timber floor, other ppl can hear very clearly. The shower is a also big problem with the very aged probably a century old bathroom. Water is very small and if somebody else is taking the shower at the same time, then the water is literally dripping.

The owner is also very cunning. Claimed the one bedroom apartment can live up to 6 ppl, but only find ourselves that we have to cram into the very small pigeon hole. The bathroom entrance is from the living room, which already had one queen and 2 single beds, and then the other bedroom had no bathroom but had to access from the same living area. It is a nightmare, don't book the 1 bedroom apartment unless you want to lose the sleep.

the owner is putting more beds in every room to accommodate more people without considering it is after all a just ordinary house. The infrastructure here is a nightmare to share with many ppl .

Lastly there's no WIFI, which in Tasmania is big problem. Because only Optus phone works well here. When you want to research where to go, you pretty much have to rely on WIFI.

Room Tip: don't book the apartment

I stayed here with a group of girlfriends before and after a trek in Tassie. Two months later we are still raving about Steve's breakfast so I am writing my first ever review to let others know. Just about everything is homemade and absolutely delicious. All else about the stay was great but it was the breakfast I would return for.

Me, my husband and our two yr old stayed at Windmill Hill lodge for 4 nights and we only have great things to say about it.

It is not ultra modern accommodation but has everything you need and only a short walk to town. Combined with Steve, a great host and his wonderful breakfast we had a great time in Launceston and would definately stay here again.

We stayed here for five nights in october. We are a family of 5 so stayed in the two bedroom apartment that caters for up to 6. The rooms are dated but that is the theme of the accommodation to keep with the period of the house (1870's). Rooms have everything you need and are serviced daily, beds comfy and bonus free wifi.

Breakfast was amazing all home made and grown by Steve who provides great advice on things to do and places to see in and around Launceston. We enjoyed our morning talks with Steve in the mornings over breakfast.

I cannot fault this accomodation I highly reccommend to stay here to anyone. Yes its not 5 star but the service definetly is. Great value indeed.

Room Tip: All the rooms look good

You need to bear in mind that this house was built in the 1870's. Fantastic location on the top of the hill above Launceston. Rooms are aged but adequate and comfortable. Fantastic hosts who are keen to help you enjoy your Tasmanian experience. Breakfast is the big draw card here, fresh, healthy and plenty of it, a cooked breakfast is available by request. All in all this is a good accommodation, parking is on street in the service road, but, to be honest, its not the mainland sothis is no problem.
