Went to Sporties after our Hotel advised that their kitchen was not open on a Sunday night. Thank you Mantra as I had the best pub meal in Tassie. Spicey pumpkin soup and Lamb Stew with bread for $10 plus a Pinot Noir for $5 making a grand total of $15. Would have spent 3 times as much at Mantra. Best meal and bargain of our Tassie adventure. Would recommend Sporties to anyone.

I ordered the Open Steak Sandwich, the description on the menu read grass fed beef, free range egg, crispy bacon, shredded lettuce, tomato, cheese, BBQ sauce and sweet chilli aioli. Sounded very nice!! What I received was totally different, no lettuce or tomato or sweet chilli aioli. The piece of bacon was the most undercooked item, with only a couple of char grill marks on it, could eat any of it. The steak was very grisly and not cooked to the way I asked for. Because there was no lettuce or tomato the piece of bread was soggy and could not be eaten. One of the worst I have had in Launceston. Only good thing on the plate was the egg and chips!! Won't be returning.

Sporties has evolved again into more of a sports pub and good value meal venue.
Have dined a couple of times recently for lunch once off the normal menu and once off the special menu for $15 good value I feel.
Had chicken schnitzel with gravy and the fish of the day both came with the best fries.
Meals are as described and priced accordingly.
Drinks they have a good variety of wines and beers on tap.
Great spot to watch your favourite sporting event as well.

Good atmosphere and heaps of TVs to watch footy, but the food was pretty yucky. Had steak sandwich and chicken parmigiana.... not recommended for lunch.
