I actually loved this hotel - normally we wouldn’t go for this style but I would now stay only here in Launceston.
We had 4 nights in the one bedroom king room. The owner is very pleasant and you can see he loves his hotel and meeting people.
We found the place really quiet and close to everything. Parking was easy there.
The bed was comfy and it was nice having a lounge as well as separate bathroom. Hot water was excellent and didn’t matter what time of the day the shower was always hot.
Most of the time the room was serviced and cleaned well except for one morning it seemed to be forgotten, however I think they were training a newbie and from seeing past reviews it is something they have improved on 100%. They did have one night the front desk was closed early however you are able to enter through another door with your room key.
It is a beautiful building and beautiful rooms. The view is amazing from it and we loved driving up to the gorge and surrounding areas. Thanks for a great stay at a great price and will see you again when we come to Tassie again.

This distinctive ex convent building was well located on the edge of the CBD only 5 minutes walk to the Queen Victoria Museum (old building) for instance. There were a number of places for dining nearby and a good cafe, Cuccina, across the road. The parking was spacious, unlike some city hotels I have stayed in. We were given a disabled access room which had a large ensuite with a briliant shower. The staff were friendly and helped us with restaurant choices. We enjoyed our one night stay there, particularly after 5 weeks of camping!

We enjoyed three nights in this well equipped, renovated old Convent building close to the centre of Launceston. We had a large bedroom with ensuite and TV and also a large sitting room with leather lounges, wide screen TV and full size dining room table - all overlooking the city. The suite had a stocked minibar and sufficient settings for us to eat in at night. There are no cooking facilities except for a microwave. We ate in with take away each night. The hotel offers a prepacked continental breakfast at a modest price. The staff were friendly and obliging. There is ample on site parking and free WiFi with a small daily limit. The hotel is close to supermarkets, liquor stores, pubs and restaurants.

Felt that the hotel was quite understaffed and that the rooms were just adequate but not that well equipped. The toilet especially was too cold and without any heating element. Do note that the reception is not 24 hrs and there is no reception from early afternoon. However it is quite a nearby drive to some eateries and Woolworth supermarket.

Came across Auldington on Trivago , very impressed , a great little find . Stayed 3 nights.
Quaint , architecturally stunning old building converted to a modern hotel , whilst keeping a boutique feeling.
Location is perfect - Cuccina across the road is the best breakfast cafe I’ve come across in Tasmania , good selection of quality restaurants and pubs within walking distance .The cataract gorge is a must visit if in Launy for more than a day - it’s walking distance too.
Rooms are clean and homely , terrific views from top level rooms, hot powerful shower , comfy bed, quiet AC, great selection of treats in the minibar. Service was friendly , helpful and efficient.
