The gardens are well maintained and even thought we were too early in the day for the begonia exhibition, we could see it through the glass walls - it looked amazing!

Nice gardens to wonder around. Quite small. It is beside the lake. Don’t miss the war memorial, just 2 mins walk away.

Stunning gardens with gorgeous floral displays, magnificent stately trees, plenty of grassy expanses in sun or shade for picnics, & a grand Avenue of past Australian Prime Ministers in sculptures that capture all of them very well!

The Ballarat Botanic Gardens are Heritage-listed. They date to the 1850s, at the height of the Great Australian Gold Rush. They are very well-maintained and are the highlight of the annual Begonia Festival.

Absolutely stunning visit to the Botanical gardens. The dahlia beds were outstanding with many varieties of dahlia in full bloom. We reached the house where the begonias were being displayed when there was only a small queue. This is a wonderful display of begonias with so many colors, shapes and sizes (some were enormous.) There were also wonderful floral displays in other garden beds. This is most definitely worth a trip to Ballarat during the March long weekend if you love flowers.
