Great value. Not oily. Friendly staff. Well worth the wait. The queue says it all. Fish was straight off the boat

Ask around for a decent fish & chip shop. Was told to try Fish a Fare. Besides the not so pleasant service- what no smiles, the seafood was very greasy, and what, no crumbed fish???
Possibly spoiled from great seafood shops we go to in Queensland. Surely there are better seafood shops in Lakes Entrance? A waste of money. Try elsewhere.

Enjoyed a very nice feed of fish, chips, potato cakes and scallops. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was prepared in good time. One of the best fish and chips we have had. Thank you.

Lovely fresh food served hot and plentiful. Very reasonably priced as well. Inside and outside seating. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Excellent hot coffee. Very good service. Would eat here again.

When it comes to fish and chip places, it is generally either a hit or a miss. Tried Fish-a-Fair based off the recommendation of a local and suffice to say that it was a HIT. This, despite it being extremely busy and having to wait over 30 mins for the food (note: we were advised that it would be that long at time of order).
Chips were fresh and crisp, which supports the local's comment that they change their oil every day (the key to good chips). Whilst I didn't have any fish, I can also give a tick to the potato cakes, chiko roll and fried dim sims.
Prices were reasonable too - a lot cheaper than what you normally get from holiday seaside town fish and chip shops.
