Paid different prices for two rounds of the same drinks, then paid $18 for a gin and tonic. Parma’s were tasty and waitresses were great.

Great pub!

The management and staff were very professional, kind and accommodating.

The charcuterie board was beautiful and extremely generous.

We then shared the Whalers' version of 'surf and turf' from the specials board - an 800g+ Provenir grass fed rib eye topped with half a local crayfish. Perfectly cooked steak that was so tender and moist. I'm typically not a fan of 'surf and turf', however when the 'surf' component is a local cray, I'm converted! The sweetness of the cray combined with the subtle, but present asian style dressing complimented the beef brilliantly.

Whilst not cheap, however as a shared dish for 2 and considering the portion size and quality of the local ingredients, it represents incredible value. Absolutely delicious!

Highly recommended.

$45 for half lobster with duck fat potatoes, yes that's correct! Absolutely amazing meal, perfectly cooked, nothing to complain about, lobster risotto was only $19.95, didn't have it but looked sensational. So good we went back again the next night! Staff exceptional and drinks very reasonable, highly recommend the place, I think they only hire people who have been hit with the beautiful stick! Great place, family friendly also, would go back every night

Starter came with no plates!! 10 mins later the staff realise and bring some over. Followed by what can only describe as a bowl of slop. My main meal was more like a soup with meat placed on top. Sweet potato mash swamped by sauce . Extremely disappointed and no customer service when I took the plate back. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t visit again. Such a shame but a really awful experience.

We had a lovely dinner at the Whalers' Hotel. I had a steak which was well cooked and tasty. The roast potatoes that came with it were unfortunately heated from cold and had that distinctive "reheated cold roast potato" flavour but I didn't really mind because I'm trying to eat low carb anyway. My partner had the burger which was quite tasty though the patty was well cooked to the point of being dry. But overall the mains were still enjoyable. It was, however, the chocolate pudding that we had for dessert that was the absolute highlight. Chocolate lava within, including with white chocolate; fresh raspberries and an amazing raspberry sorbet. Delicious. The atmosphere inside the 'dining room' was quite nice too -- it's a separate room walled off from the main pub dining floor and a little bit quieter.
