Mt brother * I decided to the river cruise on NZ'so last coal fired paddle steamer 118 yrs old. The staff are quick to help up the gangway & up & down stairs. The trip is 2 hours & thoroughly relaxing & very enjoyable. The whole crew are friendly & helpful. Nothing g is too much trouble. Food & drink is a bit dear but I don't mind as its rare to see treasures like PS Waimarie in working condition so any money goes to the upkeep. The whole trip was worth every cent of the $40 in my opinion. A very worthwhile adventure highly recommend it.

Thank Eunice C

For many years the Wanganui River was the river highway for Wanganui and the local area. Still a beautiful river in its own way may look brown at times but still has plenty to offer. Many site seeing trips can start on the river but my top pick would be the old paddle boat certainly worth booking if in the area.

A trip on thus river is a great way to see the city from another angle, and to enjoy the river itself

My fiance and I try and wander along the river on a regular basis. Just beautiful, nice relaxing stroll with good condition footpaths. River market is on every Saturday morning and it is lovely to grab a drink and watch the rowers or Waimarie on the water. Love living here.

Awesome trip, so very grateful to live in such an amazingly beautiful country. Had a blast even though it rained 2 out of 3 days.
Highly recommend Taumarunui Canoe Hire, great people to deal with.
