Very basic accommodation -minimal kitchen utensils -surrounding facilities need a lot of attention -whole property seems to be in disrepairl Surprised it achieved a 4 star rating -would not be what I would call a luxury apartment

This motel could be a set for a zombie apocalypse movie. Broken down rusted out cars, dilapidated fences and a spooky shed, a swimming pool and half tennis court which clearly hadn't been usable for quite some time, a central courtyard which is all weeds, really tight turns and narrow driveways, set in a pretty rundown neighbourhood. Admittedly there had been a bit of a cyclone 10 days before, but some of the devastation did not seem to be all that recent.
And yet it's not bad. The rooms have been tarted up, the TV has a good selection of channels, internet is free and unlimited, laundry is good, the rooms are spacious, separate bedroom, beds comfortable, bathroom pretty good, kitchen ok, and it's very reasonably priced. The managers Sascha and Michelle, are delightful. Once you get past the initial horror, it's a nice little motel.

The Kea Apartments had a few things that were not considered luxury as advertised on multiple online sites. The exterior features of the apartment was poor. Grounds were not maintained with old cars, rubbish, overgrown grass and temporary fencing that did not reflect the 'luxury' accommodation featured. The interior design of the apartment was good and very modern with full cooking facilities, however there were ants in the kitchen and no ability to have windows open during the night as the security locks weren't fitted. Bathroom was great and again very modern. Price of the apartment was expensive for what was on offer. The online images also don't reflect the rooms very well.

we enjoyed our stay here in the two bedroom luxury unit. the interiors are clean and have been recently renovated with modern styling. don’t be put off by the exterior - which looks like a run down one story motor lodge around a central courtyard. we were traveling with another family so the courtyard with comfy chairs and picnic table were great for playing cards and socializing in the evening.

location is great - 5 min walk to tahuna beach, convenience store across the street and great restaurants nearby - we enjoyed smugglers inn and sprig and fern.

highly recommend!

Really enjoyed my stay here! Rooms have modern styling and very spacious with full kitchen facilities. Room was clean and tidy.

Accommodation was well located. It was walking distance to takeaways, cafes & pubs and a nice dog friendly beach.

About 5 minutes drive to the airport and 10 minutes to CBD nelson

Service was great and staff were very friendly!
