Owner description: Natureland is Nelson's zoo and wildlife conservation centre where you can get up close and personal to some unique New Zealand natives like Tuatara and Kea. Hang with the monkeys and get hands on with a range of interesting domestic animals. We are proud to be a community focused charitable trust so come on in and lets have a conservation conversation.

Took a few kids to Natureland. It is a bit disappointing. It's quite small and took us all of 10min to walk around all the animals. Smaller kids enjoyed it but kids over 8 years weren't too impressed. The play area is also very small. We took the kids to Tahuna play area instead.

Not a huge amount to see or do, will kill an hour with young kids. Friendly staff. Not great for wet days.

Thank culz

This is more of a petting zoo due to its scale but it has some lovely exhibits and the animals seem happy. It was reasonably priced and you can buy food to feed some of the animals. I particularly liked the meerkat enclosure and the lemurs. An eclectic group of creatures that is a small detour if you're in the area. I wouldn't make a special trip as it will only keep you occupied for half an hour. There is a small playground in the centre which small children would enjoy. The gift shop has a few nice items.

Went there with my family and was surprised about the variety and good conditions of animals. My favourite were meerkats and Capuchin monkeys. My baby loved the pigs and friendly goats.
Buy the animal feed at the door and you wont regret it as animals are crazy about it.

Very welcoming. Staff great with 3 year old. Special being able to feed some animals. Great to have play/picnic area. Great for child to have interaction with animals.
