Review of The Alkaline Cafe

The Alkaline Cafe
Ranked #27 of 136 Restaurants in Albany
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$5 - US$18
Description: We are a 100% gluten free vegetarian cafe selling wholefoods free from refined sugars. We make almost everything on site including our own vegan paleo bread, raw vegan wraps, vegan lasagne, and chickpea/sweet potato burgers. We also make the best vegetarian breakfasts loaded with mushrooms, eggs, spinach, home style hash brown, spicy beanz, avocado, and tomato. Lunches are easy with local low GI baked spuds with kaleslaw, pineapple, and coconut yoghurt or spicy beans topped with cheddar or vegan cheese. Also available, toasted sourdough sandwiches, nourishing salads, zucchini noodles in a kale pesto or with a bolognese sauce with vegan walnut mince. We make our own incredible raw vegan cheesecakes, wholefood baked cakes, vegan butter, vegan cheese, nut butters and a whole lot more. We source as much fresh local and organic produce as possible. We serve locally roasted organic coffee, local bespoke organic teas, delicious smoothies and cold pressed juices. We have an extensive range of milks including nut milks all made in-house. The cafe has a relaxed comfortable vibe with lots of different areas to sit and relax. There's also great spots for the kids to hang out and draw and colour in. It is our aim to feed you well so your body feels good and you feel happy!

While in Albany m daughter and I had breakfast here twice. On the first day I had the poached eggs with avocado and my daughter had the buckwheat pancakes. Both we delicious. My daughter raved so much about the pancakes that we both had them on our second visit. The coffee was delicious. Lovely fresh environment and very helpful staff.

Have been a number of times over the past two years when we are over to visit family. The coffee is great. Service with a smile and the setting is casual and friendly. We haven't had lunch there as yet but always has a number of locals in which usually means it is good food. Next time will dine there .

Love this cafe located on the corner of Aberdeen and Frederick St. With a excellent coffee range, great menu selection, very nice atmosphere and friendly hospitality makes Alkaline cafe our favourite. Albany is very lucky to have such a cool cafe.

My friend abd I caught up with each other on Thursday.

Carrot cake was chosen but dissapointingly was badly burnt on two sides.

The cake was returned only to be replaced with another piece of burnt cake.

Don't sell sub standard food.

Customers have the power of choice.

I choose not to return to Alkaline.
