If you like being outdoors, expect basic facilities and camping then you will love this! It's a real bush experience and it is what you make of it. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and fridges, you stay in bunks the first night then move to tents for the 2nd/3rd night. The canoeing was great.. you are told where to go then you do it at your own pace and spend the day in a beautiful creek where you can swim in the water and jump in from rope swing!! There is a bush walk to do from camp and a small beach beside the river you can sit at but not much else.... if you have a good group though it's great fun. I wasn't bored once and if you are there is a TV room. Great place to cut off from civilisation and enjoy evenings by the campfire!

I stayed here years ago and cannot believe it hasn't changed!!! IT IS AMAZING.. if you like tranquillity, wildlife, river canoeing, quarry mud baths, sleeping outdoors and trying some bush damper and wood fire pizza.. this place is not to be missed
I have stayed here over 50 nights in total - over a few years - and WILL BE BACK
I am now a mum (!?) & i intend on returning with my family for a real treat of bush camping and the campfire singing, lovely company

Room Tip: Life outdoors! get simple, get back to basics here - bushman style !!

it is what it is; a bush camp. If you enjoy camping and the outdoors then this place is actually pretty cool and is as fun as you make it to be. The mosquitos are annoying but whatever, you're camping what do you expect. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and thought the staff were very friendly and helpful, one guy even went out of his way to drive us to the nearest bottle shop late at night because we ran out.

Room Tip: bring bug spray!!!!

We stayed 2 nights here having got it as a "freebie" from Wicked (literally everyone there did and this doesn't include the $50 park fee when you arrive). It is truly a bush camp in that the accommodation is very very basic, which is fine if you are prepared for that and the beds are comfy enough. The slightly weirder feel about the set up is that the wood is also home to some people apparently living there permanently in tents right by the camp. As you drive in it does look pretty rough. Several of the staff (not all), particularly the driver who picked us up, were grumpy to the point of rudeness. It's mosquito central so make sure you bring repellant. The canoeing is pretty fun, but we were told by our hostel travel agent that the part of the river you do it on is not actually the everglades, which of course is the reason we went in the first place. Nothing at all to do on the first day, there is nowhere to walk in the wood and only a tiny (like 5 metre squared) beach to lie on, so everyone was pretty bored. Probably better to stay in Noosa and do a day trip to the actual everglades.

First of all, don't be fooled. Everyone we met at the camp got it for free as an add on for booking various tours and to try and convince you to spend more money than you actually have in your bank account. But its only free until you get there and have to pay a 50 dollar fee for "park entrance" and another 20 deposit. You get there early morning and then they tell you to entertain yourself for the rest of the day but all that's there is a TINY beach which the sun vacates around 2 in the afternoon or a TV. Now I don't know about you, but I haven't traveled half way around the world to watch TV! The camp itself is very basic, a few dorms which consists of tents with basic army cots in them and some little normal two man tent. You spend the first night sleeping in a dorm and then they take your sheet away from you and make you sleep in the tent with the option of upgrading to a dorm and hiring a sleeping bag to make more money. Now I'm all for living an adventure and absolutely love camping normally but at this price I could have paid for two nights in a very comfy hostel! Also the staff were rude from the moment we arrived, in a bad mood all through the 3 days and very unhelpful. Canoeing itself was good fun although there's not really anywhere to stop your canoe for a break unless you want to be eaten alive by mosquitoes. After we got back to civilization, we found out that actually that part of the river wasn't even the Everglades! Which to be fair, was false adverting by greyhound wicked travel, not the actual bushcamp. Plenty of kayaking tours leaving from Noosa that will work out a lot better value for money! In summary, don't do it, its not worth it and its not actually free! Everyone who we spoke to there said they wouldn't do it again.
