“Crepes-as-pancakes!”
Review of Panneland

We stopped here as part of a tour group, in this funky, out-of-the-way eatery down a narrow road. Weird decorations on the walls--beware of the monsters! They serve what appears to be a crepe, flat on the plate, along with your choice of a huge number of toppings and, of course, beer. If you are looking for an unusual experience, you might want to give it a try.

The ideal place for a break during a short or long or even a day's walk through this unique landscape at the Dutch coast between Noordwijk and Zandvoort.

Funky little Fairie House next to the dunes. Friendly and atmospheric stop for lunch after a walk with your fellow Gnomes.

Panneland is situated at an entrance to to the dunes which prevent the Northsea from flooding much of the Netherlands. It is a smallish restaurant where you can have the usual range of coffees, teas and softdrinks. Small meals are also on the menu but don't expect anything too fancy. The quality is good, that is what matters!
Panneland has lots of atmosphere with seating inside (the seats next to the open fireplace are very popular) and with seating outside (popular on sunny days). A small playgarden for the kids is also available.
So, stock up on calories before you enter the dunes or replenish them after an extended walk through (in my opinion;) a beautiful part of the dutch coastline.

Very cosy inside with a large mix of furniture and a fireplace.

2 outside areas; one great for families with small children.
Good place to get a drink and something to eat after (or if you like before) a good walk in de Waterleiding Duinen.

We come here about 30 times a year for several years now.

Good selection of (Belgium) beers, decently priced.
We usually have snacks, but haven't been impressed too much with some of their food like pancakes (apple just chucked on at the end, instead of being baked with the pancake itself).

Can be very busy in the weekend when the weather is nice, with long waiting times for food, but they will tell you or you can ask.

Simple place, and per my title, great for a beer and a bite after a walk
