We stayed for three nights in an unrenovated room; it was perfectly fine, nothing to complain about. The rooms are very large and have a nice table and chairs if you want to eat in your room overlooking the beautifully kept, quiet gardens. It is true that the bathroom was dated with the shower over the bath, but it was easy to get in and out of. The rooms are being progressively updated, so it's only a matter of time before they're all done. We only ate once in the Vine Restaurant as it was very hot and the air conditioning was totally inadequate, also the tables had a paper overlay over the cloth tablecloth; my husband thought it was just like a cheap Chinese restaurant, not a 4 star one. The continental breakfast is very good and we found no need to have the cooked option.
All the staff, from Reception to the cleaners, were friendly, professional, ready to help in any way, over and beyond what would normally be expected. Despite the dated bathroom I cannot rate Parklands highly enough. I would happily go there again, and can understand the reviewer who makes it their accommodation of choice when in the area.More
