What can I say? It was incredible. From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff are incredible (yaakov in particular). Everything was perfect and we felt so relaxed. 5 minute walk to the old town and right near the Jewish quarter. Excellent location with beautiful views over the river. Breakfast is amazing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that gets cool at night if you like sleeping in colder temperatures. The hotel has central heating so even with the thermostat off, it’s still slightly warm.

First impressions are great, the construction seems to have been completed, the lobby is very festive, but I found it odd that our card was charged a refundable £50 for a damage deposit in a 5 star hotel as a couple. The room was spacious and well furnished. Great selection at the mini bar, Nespresso machine, wide screen TV, seating area and desk, and full toiletries, but only one bath robe? The beds are rock hard, and I mean hip numbing hard, but I quite liked the fact that I didn't have to fight the other half for the duvet as the bedroom has two single beds with separate duvets. We had to turn the air con off completely and open a window, as despite all my efforts it wouldn't go below 18c and in the middle of the night this seem to reach hotter than hell temperatures despite what the gauge stated. The funniest moment was when the OH went to run a bath. The shower screen only moves in over which meant he couldn't reach the bath taps at all without actually getting in the bath to turn them on, and that also goes for the shower. You have to be in it, and hope you can turn the taps quick enough so you don't get a nasty surprise! The breakfast selection is outstanding, cereal, bread, fruit, yogurt, full English, with all the trimmings, and everything is well cooked, you can get omelettes to order, and the waiting staff are lovely. My argument with the nespresso machine in the room was dealt with immediately by staff who were very helpful and understanding, but I knew from previous reviews that the heating issue would fall on deaf ears.... but the worst bit of the whole stay was when we went to check out and got a surprise "city tax" to pay for. Not "how was your stay?", "have you enjoyed your holiday?", just that's 120 crowns city tax Oh and he almost forgot to refund us that damage deposit we paid. Now it wasn't the amount which is less than £5, it was the way in which it was done! The hotel is 5 minutes to the Old Town Square on foot, 10 mins to Charles Bridge and very handy for Boat trips down the river, so ideally placed to access everything.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back will be quieter if you need to open a window, but obviously no river view!

Dear Kazblue,
thank you for the time you have spent to share your review here on Tripadvisor.
It is nice to see, that especially the location, room and breakfast made your stay special. We are really sorry for the issues with missing bathrobe, hard mattress, air conditioning and some staff and technical issues as well.
This all your experiences help us to improve our quality of service. We take your comments very seriously and we will focus on the problems and situations you described. It is truth, that our check in procedure really includes a deposit of 50-100 Euro as guarantee for payment of using eventual extras like minibar etc. and city tax is the official charge for each tourist spending a night in Prague (15 CZK per person per night). We are sorry for the way, how these charges were dealt with you by our staff.
We hope to see you again, so we can provide you a better experience.

Yours faithfully

I booked this hotel for two nights to celebrate my daughters birthday. The hotel were really helpful in the run up and put a bottle of sparkling wine in her room to say happy birthday which was a lovely touch. The rooms were great (although my daughters room was really hot and we were told to turn of the heating which didn't make a difference) but apart from that, the staff were great and the hotel is perfectly situated for the Old Town Christmas market and other nearby sights. We went on a river cruise which was brilliant and just a short walk from the hotel.

Room Tip: We were given a room overlooking the river which was perfect - I think all the rooms are good as the hotel has recently been refurbished

Stayed here for 4 nights, never been to Czech Republic before, came for the Christmas Market. Location is perfect, out of the hotel and turn left past the intercontinental and after 10 mins you arrive at the old town square. Booked a river trip opposite the hotel with Prague boats, and a 15 min walk along the river to Charles Bridge. The room was spacious and clean. We found it to be a hot room and slept with the window open, which was not ideal because of the main road noise. The bed was 2 singles pushed together, you could feel the join, and 2 single duvets. That wasn't a problem for us, but could upset some couples. The bathroom was tiny, and the shower screen leaked over the floor (shower over the bath). No kettle in the room, just a Krupps machine (you can get hot water from it). Hairdryer in the bathroom. Large Samsung flat screen TV. Breakfast was fine, no problems, plenty to choose from, and the staff were friendly. They seemed over staffed though, your bowls and plates were took sometimes before you had even finished. Concierge was helpful, ordered us a taxi to the Castle entrance 250K which was well worth it. Get there for the changing of the guard at 12. And they booked us a restaurant which we found on trip adviser. We used Prague Airport Transfers for the airport run, the hotel charge 32Euros. The main fault is that the hotel in under renovation, and I was woken on 3 mornings out of the 4, 2 were around 7am, one was at 4.45am. The hotel assured me they did not know what the noise was at 4.45am, but it became apparent it was the construction staff. A kango drill was heard on one afternoon for hours. I would stay here again, but not until the noise disruption is sorted.

Room Tip: Had a river view room, with a window seat.
