We have walked miles and passed this modern looking theatre today so popped in to see what was showing, staff friendly and helpful so we booked evening performance of the wonderful circus. The theatre itself is well set out with seating and a bar area. We weren’t entirely sure what to expect but enjoyed a really excellent performance that was a combination of dance, mime and black light theatre. Really unusual and unlike anything we’d seen before. Quick interval so only time for a drink. At 590kc per person it was really good value.

Went to the Opera "Lohengrin" while were we in Prague. The National Theater is full of art and history related to the arts. Got tickets to Booth 13 which was not very comfortable for three people and had an obstructed view. Would suggest to actually get regular seating tickets facing the stage. The orchestra was excellent, staff was great and you are able to go to the roof for a great view of the city.

When to tonight's performance of "Lohengrin" with two friends. The orchestra was top notch. Loved seeing the packed theater. Few, if any, open seats. We were in Box 13 on the first balcony, one box away from the stage, which was not an especially good view as a quarter to a half of the stage couldn't be seen depending on your seat. Most folks dressed up a little (slacks and jacket), some dressed up a lot (suits for guys, evening gowns for ladies), but there were a few folks in jeans.

It was all of the art throughout the building (paintings, murals, statues, busts, etc, etc) that stole the show. Pay attention to the ceilings. Don't skip a climb up to the rooftop patio where you can stand next to the statues of the muses looking out on the city and get a close-up view of the huge bronze chariots on the corners.

This made up for the discovery that the state opera was closed for renovation. A beautiful & comfortable theatre. Great performance of Tosca & as we were "up in the gods" a chance to see close up the frescoed ceiling. It's a long way up but the view across Prague from the terrace made it well worth it...oh & the performance as well.

We didn't go inside but we liked the outside very much, it is placed in the very centre about 20 - 25 min of slow walk from the Prague Castle. It's so nice to see the building from a boat on river or from river banks. And the story about great fire is so interesting.
