The stunning gold roof of the National Theatre makes it very easy to spot, especially if you have an elevated viewpoint. A glorious building.

the building, the history, the views, the performance were all unforgettable.
We particularly liked that people were able to dress formally or casually an be equally as comfortable..
.... A tip - get there 30 mins early and enjoy a wine on the balcony overlooking the river and bridge

This theatre is as lovely as it is historic to the czech people. Best way to see it in my opinion is to watch a performance at this theatre. Being an opera fan, I had on a visit several years ago enjoyed a performance at the State Opera for an incredibly low price. That is another beautiful venue that is now closed for renovations.

On advice from the helpful lady at the ticket office the day before the performance, I took a standing ticket for La Traviata for just 200 kroners (that would have been a seat with a good view in the past alas but those days are gone). The quality of the production and singing are exceptional. One of the best productions of this opera that I have attended.

What a wonderful building with a great history Just have a walk round if you have the time. I wish we could have seen something on the stage in this fantastic building.

Great opera, lovely building. But we were sat in a box on the first floor - I wouldn’t recommend - couldn’t see a thing! Pay less for second tier seating and enjoy the show!
