We went there three times this year. I don't know if they wish to give all Czech formations a chance to perform at least once but they need to be more selective and keep the good stuff for several nights running otherwise the uneven quality becomes discouraging. We are fans of this place but quality must improve. We are not the only ones to complain because we notice the room is not so packed as it used to be some years ago (we visit every year). Adding cushions on the VERY, VERY, VERY hard chairs would be a good idea because staying for the second set is so demanding as to be impossible.
A must-visit for jazz lovers. Intimate and authentic! Adam Ben Ezra performed when we were there. Open from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. Friendly, down to earth staff.
This club was recommended to us and did not disappoint. It was 250ck (approx. £8.25) to get in, it's down in a basement, I was apprehensive at first as you can't see how busy it is from the entrance where you pay, but the room was full. It has a rustic feel, and is a small venue with the tables clustered right in front of the stage and seating around the edges of the room. They have different acts on each night, which are advertised outside of the club. You can either purchase your drinks at the bar, or the bar staff come to your table and you pay them when they bring your drinks. The drinks were reasonably priced, I paid approx. 50ck/£1.65 for a lager and 60ck/£1.98 for a cider. The band were really good and played from 9pm until 12pm. They are limited on capacity, so I would recommend not coming too late. We arrived at about 9:20pm and were lucky to get a seat. You are able to reserve a table but you need to be there early as they will give your table up if your not there by 8:45pm.
We called in here after a good dinner in the town. The band playing was called HOT LINE and they made a really good sound. The place is only small so you are very close to the performers. The drinks prices are very good - we had a bottle of reasonable red wine for 205 czech crowns - less than £7.00. An excellent place to end your day in Prague.
Had a Wonderful time for our fourth visit to AghaRTA... the vibe is so cool, and the music just kicks. If the house is full, try and get the table that is on stage and behind the piano, it's an experience that is hard to improve on.
This is a really unique and intimate space; set inside a 14th century vault! The musicians we saw were definitely first-rate, but in my opinion, they fell more into the category of “jam-band”. Regardless of musical style, the drink prices were friendly and it was a really enjoyable time.
