Description: There is a corner house on the left bank of the Vltava River, below Petřín on Malá Strana. Construction of this building began in 1903 and it has served practically exclusively as a restaurant since its was built. The destiny of the restaurant to be a place where people meet was confirmed by its reopening in 2003. Terrible food and terrible service. We did wait for 2 hours. My burger was the worst burgers in my life. The meat was disgusting and the service was catastrophic. Waiters are not friendly at all. Don’t go there, you are wasting your time and your money!!!

Usually, when I am recommended somewhere in a city from someone at the front desk, I generally do a bit of research on the place, like a scope out, if you will. We decided to scope out this place one night because we heard and read that it had authentic Czech food.

So we went... and then we went again. the food is spectacular! Generous portions, delicious wine and beer on tap!

If you are close by, check (Czech) it out. (lame joke I know)

This place was recommended to us by our hotel and we weren't initially going to bother going, but it was convenient one day when the temperatures were extremely low.

So glad we did! it is interesting and very tasty. Pretty big portions too. So good we went back on our last day to spend the rest of our Krona before our eve flight. I have Schnitzel and wild boar, my partner had roast duck and risotto. All were delicious and a good and reasonable selection of beers and wines too.

Recommend if you're staying that end of the city!

Our hotel recommended this restaurant. Good choice of food and not expensive. Can be busy and a bit noisy in the evenings, but we usually got there before 19.00 and always managed to get a table. Reservation probably best.
