This is one of the must-see sights in central Budapest.

The architecture and paintings inside are fantastic. Such a peaceful place. Just remember to pay a donation (amount is up to you) before you go in!

It’s a gorgeous looking building, can’t say I know much about its history or origin but if you’re into architecture then it’s a must visit.

The front faces on to a lovely courtyard with wonderful architecture on three sides. Less said the better about the other one - the planning committee must have been very dim in the sixties. Stunning cathedral.

We arrived in Budapest on St Stephen's Day on the 20th August to see some of the national celebrations so we had to visit the church too.
This Roman Catholic church, referred to as the Basilica, is dedicated to St Stephen who was originally King Stephen the founder of the Christian state of Hungary and his mummified hand is on display here. He died in 1038, but the church was built in the 1800's.
Definitely a landmark of Budapeste, very central, and worth a visit, but we didn't go up to the doom
