A very nice old fashioned boutique hotel centrally located near the old town of Bratislava close to bars, pubs and restaurants. The rooms are large and tidy and the beds are nice. The breakfast buffet was good.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the upper floors

The fantastic breakfast alone is enough to attract visitors to this hotel. Its served from 6.30am to 11 am. Its very popular; at times there are very few tables to be had. The staff work hard to ensure everything is correct and were most helpful in all respects.
The entire hotel is as clean as a whistle and is a credit to the staff.
We were disappointed with the mini bar; it had only soft drinks and beer in it. No spirits nor wine provided. Disappointed too with the position of the hotel; it is directly on a street and the general public are inches away. The view is also disappointing; its facing a garage and some flats. There was no balcony so we were reduced to sitting in the room with a soft drink - not good. But we slept well and the noise from the outside traffic was not heavy.
We stayed for 7 days and eventually found our way around; It is situated quite near to the main square but it took us a few days to work out exactly the quickest way to walk to it. The hotel we understood did not allow pets, yet we had a room next to a yapping small dog. The terrace faces a block of flats across the road and has no bar. There was no way of ordering drinks to be served there, we saw only two people on the terrace the whole week we were there - another disappointment. The owners have tried hard to make this a five star place but I am afraid it is over rated and is to be avoided unless you value highly the breakfast..

Room Tip: The first floor suffer the disadvantage of hearing the vacuum cleaner on the ground floor early mo...

Dear Guests

Thank you for your feedback. We were delighted to read that you have particularly enjoyed our breakfast, which we are proud to serve using the freshest local produce and home-made delicacies.

As you also describe, we are situated a few steps from the city centre and the main square, which offers great places to drink and dine and has a very nice vibe in general.

We regret to read that you were disappointed with the room minibar. We do however provide the minibar on a complimentary basis with items refilled daily which is usually highly appreciated - especially during hot summer days. For a more extensive selection of drinks and snacks we also operate a Library Salon bar or our Houdini Restaurant.

Thank you again for staying with us.
Kind regards

This hotel is very tastefully decorated and the service was universally good at reception, porter service and in the restaurant.

We had a large suite which worked well for our family with 2 children. The lift was slow as there is only one, but fortunately we were on the first floor so could use the stairs.

Parking is available but is very tight so it is safest to get the porter to park your car.

There is free minibar with wine, beer soft drinks and snacks all included. The only problem was there was no cork screw for us to open the wine and we had to call reception. It would be nice if the hotel provided cork screws in the room.

Breakfast was good and dinner was very nice. I ordered he lamb and it was very well cooked and presented. The restaurant also catered very well for our children's special requests.

The hotel is situated very well with just a short 3 or 4 minute work to the opera house.

The welcome drinks were appreciated also.

All round a great stay and we would stay here again if we are back in Bratislava.

Really enjoyed the three nights we spent at Marrol's in the beautiful city of Bratislava.

Check in was very smooth with a welcome drink and a very kind porter taking our bags up. Our room on the second floor was tastefully decorated with ample space. Great to see tea and coffee facilities in the room and the refilled mini bar is a nice touch. Massive Samsung flatscreen with Netflix also a great result! Special mention to the cleaning staff as there was not a spot of dust anywhere. Gym is well apportioned if you like lifting weights, not so much for cardio.

Would have got five stars but for two small gripes.

1) breakfast was a bit chaotic. First morning there were no tables and we were told brusquely to 'wait'. Also the dishes never change and unless you ask for a specialist coffee none are offered.

2) the bar in the evening is often left unstaffed meaning we had to wait until a bar man turned up to settle our bill.
