This is a little gem, a gorgeous small boutique hotel, within two minutes walking distance of the old centre of Bratislava (which by the way is a charming little city, and worth exploring - unlike Vienna upriver, which has sold its soul to the international brand devil and is now just an elegant version of Oxford Street - but I digress...). My room at Marrol's was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, had a fantastic bed with incredibly comfortable linen and juicy pillows. The mini-bar is basic (water, wines, beer, soft drink) but everything in it is complimentary. My room also had a computer with fast and free internet connection, a great flatscreen TV, the bathroom finishes are impeccable... it's just a real quality place. One of the staff members was a little sniffy which is why the service only gets four stars, but everyone else was efficient, helpful and polite. The restautrant is also top class (try the baked courgettes with gorgonzola), and you get a 30% discount off your food bill if you're staying in-house.
In short, it's a true find, and it'll be my choice of accomodation for every Slovakian trip from now on. Loved it.More
