An old style high rise building closely located to the old city center, rooms were also old furnished, the staff were friendly and helpful, you can reach easily to the old center and new formation of cities like Obchudna Street, a bit far from away Tuna River by walk, breakfast was enough with a variety of foods.

this huge old style communist hotel is special in the way it shows the style of hotel in the former communist block! the buffet breakfast is the best i ever had: incredible choice of food. Elevators are small and do not work well but it is a part of the vintage "charm" of the building!

Stayed at this iconic highrise hotel (which has an old Soviet-era layout/architecture). Very close to Bratislavy City Center, and surrounding amenities.
The breakfast was very delicious with lots of selection. One was definitely spoilt for choice.
Rooms were well ventilated and were clean. The bed mattresses could have been a bit softer.
The elevators were also old fashioned. Though plain and minimalist, I did admire the lobby and surroundings.
Other than staying at an IHG hotel, I would recommend staying here. You do get value for comfort.

This is by no means a luxury hotel, so avoid it if spartan rooms and dirty carpet in the hall bother you.The view is amazing, the breakfast ample. Get a high floor. However, this property was clearly used to house Soviet soldiers or soccer hooligans at some point. The result is a hilarious list of fines for things like breaking mirrors, urinating out the window, stealing sheets and towels and many other sins. That alone made the shabby environment and the broken elevator worthwhile.

Room Tip: High rooms have spectacular views.

Stay at this hostel if you want to feel a glimpse of the Soviet times - what a joy! I stayed at another, but asked for a guided tour because I loved so much the hotel... Staff was very friendly and the hotel is like in the old times! The views are amazing and it can be seen from anywhere in Bratislava!
