A clean place but nothing special. Very close to the Old City, just a few minutes walk. Clean rooms. Breakfast very crowded, lots of big groups. Spa OK, but pool reeks of chlorine. The sauna door would not stay closed, I kept mentioning it to them, but it was not fixed.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet stay, no city noise, ask for a room in the back.

Dear Alex,
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback! We are glad to read that you were pleased with your room. We would like to apologize for the problem with the sauna door. We have checked it and have fixed the problem. As for the breakfast area being crowded, we are aware of the problem and are planning to fix this issue during the renovation of our hotel in the near future.
Hopefully, we can welcome you back in the future!

Stayed 2 nights in the middle of a Baltic tour.
This is a really nice hotel, lovely decor, large room , all facilities worked well,WiFi,safe,TV etc.CNN in English
Comfortable bed and enough pillows
Bar is very nice , and considerably cheaper than Finland.Try the dark beer €5 ,mmm.
Cocktails €7 .
Hotel is in great location, 5 mins from old town, also across road from Iconic Viru hotel , former Intourist , and also next to old KGB HQ.
We had great view from corner room .

The KGB tour on floor 23 of the above ( Viru hotel )is not to be missed. Also there are great vistas of city .Prebooking to get on English language tour is essential.
Breakfast at The Nordic ....the room is too small for the number of guests meaning seats/tables are hard to find leading to sharing ( not really our thing) but the buffet is really nice, loads of choice and very high quality, we loved the Herring, Salmon, and home produced Honey .All the usuals are also available, lovely bacon and fried eggs.

There are many restaurants in old town , but due to rain we ate in Liivi steak bar almost next door, this was fine, but in finer weather I would recommend old town, spoilt for choice.
There is also a kiosk across the road to buy cheaper beers and snacks.
A really enjoyable stay, sorry to leave hotel behind as we went on to Riga.

NHF came my favorite hotel in Tallinn. Excellent spa area in 8th with sauna, steam sauna and whirlpool and amazing views over Tallinn.
Room was good, very big bathroom. Bed wasn’t my favorite, but ok. Breakfast was supringly good with good variety of desserts also. Location is good in city center, new Rotermann area next to hotel is really nice with new good restaurants.
Special thanks for using spa after running Tallinn marathon, when I was already checked out.
I definitely will come back.

I spent a lot of time wondering how this hotel could be rated so highly.

Granted, the bath is magnificent, there's a good view on the street side, and the dual comforter bedding is a revelation. I also think the location is perfect -- near mass transit, with easy access to taxis, and close enough the Old Town. (Staying in the Old Town would have been frustrating; I'd be battling crowds of tourists and poor transit connections.)

But the smell! My room had a musty odor that has not gone away after two days of high fan air conditioning. (The windows can't be opened, of course.) That air conditioner, by the way, is either absurdly weak or simply not working at all. I can't tell. (Either way, it is contributing to the mold on the bathroom tile.) And then in the hallways, there is sometimes a strong perfume smell... but not always.

Making matters worse, the rooms are terribly lit -- perhaps the dimmest lighting I've ever experienced in a hotel. I've had to keep the television on, muted, just to see what's in my suitcase.

This hotel has a lot of potential, but would need new HVAC and lighting systems to realize it. Until then, book elsewhere.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the street seem to have the best view.
