I stayed there only 1 night.
A lady welcomed us. She was nice and polite.
We got a room in front of the sea (for only 40€).
From the hotel, we walked around 20 minutes to the old town of Monnemvasia.
It was very quiet (but we were in September), clean and comfortable.
We had a very good and copious breakfast.
The wi fi was worked more or less correctly.
It was really easy to find the hotel, at the entrance of the city and there was a lot of space to park the car, for free...

Very old, small hotel in Monemvasia but not very close to the Castle, you cannot walk there. Definitely needs renovation as hotel facilities are old and neglected. Wifi only available in public areas. No elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage using the stairs.Breakfast very limited but all homecooked and fresh. The owners/staff very friendly and polite. In my opinion it's a bit overpriced for what it's offered and as I said before, needs an urgent renovation!

If you are looking for a luxury hotel, Hotel Castro is not for you. But if you are looking for great hospitality, a warm and friendly welcome then you'll find it here. Together with the stunning view of Monemvasia you will enjoy your stay at the Castro. Maria and Spiros were always helpful to us throughout our stay and recommended lots of places and local sites to see. Breakfast was great. Home cooked and plentiful. There is a beach within easy walking distance and Momemvasia itself is easily accessible.

Old & neglected facilities. The general quality doesn't meet it's price, although the staff is trying its best to respond to any customers' needs. the breakfast is poor, the wi-fi operates only at the first floor and the bed and sheets are of bad quality. There is no beach at close distance and you can't walk to Monembasia's Castle either.

Room Tip: During the summertime, heat is a factor that doesn't allow you to enjoy Monembasia's Castle...

Dear Mr. Nikolaos S,
we are always open to constructive reviews as they help us notice our weak points and improve our services. Nevertheless, I think your review is quite unfair to us and let me explain why. First, the hotel has been renovated in 2006 with fine quality hotel furniture and we always pay special attention to the maintenance of the facilities. Our linens are of good quality, too. Second, our breakfast includes all the following items: rusks, butter, jam and honey, orange juice, hot or cold drinks (all kinds of coffee, tea, milk or chocolate), yogurt, corn flakes, ham & cheese toast, boiled eggs, homemade cake and dessert. Personally, I wouldn't say that breakfast is poor. Third, we clearly mention in all our listings that the WiFi is available in the public areas. Additionally to that, there is access to the WiFi from the balconies of all rooms and most of the rooms of the first floor. And last but not least, there is a pebble beach very close to the hotel and many of our guests go swimming on foot during their visit. The Castle is at a walking distance, too. Please note that even if you stay within the Castle of Monemvasia, you have to walk a considerable distance in order to find parking. We don't pretend to be a luxury hotel and I think we generally offer a very good quality for the price we ask and any review should take this into account.

Hotel owner, Maria, was very kind and provided us a room with double bad. The room was clean. Great view from the room. There is a fridge in the room as well as Wi-Fi. But there are some issues. Shower cabin is pretty small and there are no curtains! Moreover there is no way to hang handshower on the wall so you have to hold it by one hand! As a result the whole bathroom was in water after shower. Keep your toilet paper in safe place! Some lamps did not work during our stay. Sea was pretty noisy so we have to use air conditioning.
Breakfast was good. It serves individually by Maria.
It was not a problem to find hotel, no issues with parking places. Hotel is pretty far from Monemvasia. We went on foot and it required about 30 minutes to be there. So I would suggest using car if available to visit Monemvasia itself. There was no problem to park along the street in the beginning of September. You have to just go a few hundreds of meters to enter in the town.
In general it's great value for money which was requested. A bit less than 30 euro.

Room Tip: If I understand right all rooms have sea view. So probably the only advice the higher the better.
