We stayed here for a week in mid September. The climate was perfect and so was the hotel. We had a beautiful room overlooking the gardens and out to the sea in the distance. Large comfortable bed, pretty balcony, a day bed and loads of well organised storage space.
The public areas and our room were exceptionally well appointed and immaculately clean.
Breakfast was a delicious, wide ranging spread with some difference choices every day, the orange juice was gorgeous! Lunch and dinner were available in the Orangea Bistro - the evening tapas was delicious and we ate in 4 out of 7 nights. We did eat out in Tavira but the restaurants are spread all over the town and it proved difficult to get a table without advance booking. We had a great meal at D'Gusta (pre-booked), superb tapas and great atmosphere; we had a very disappointing meal at the Tavira Pousada - delightful setting in the cloisters but the food was poor, the service painfully slow and so quiet that it lacked any atmosphere. We hired bikes and rode to Santa Luzia (highly recommended) to savour an octopus lunch on the quayside at A Casa - full of local families and fabulous. We also had a couple of days on the beach - long, sandy and completely unspoilt - via the hotel shuttle to Cabanas. The shuttle system worked well ferrying guests to and from the beach and central Tavira, as long as you remembered to book the previous day. We also lazed around the pool where there were plentiful loungers in various styles, loads of cushions, bean bags etc to make the day extra comfy and lots of space to ensure peace and quiet if wanted.
The staff were friendly and professional and treated us with attentive care and consideration. I cannot fault this hotel and recommend it without reservation.

Good 4star hotel 3 or 4 km from Tavira car is needed but does provide a shuttle bus to town started on third floor but the boss could hear to much coming and going so transferred to 1st floor room was well appointed if u set the air con make sure red light is on Breakfast is very good but a little chaotic the service in Portugal is laid back at the best of times the pool area is very good with plenty of loungers and the pool itself is lovely the bar overlooks the pool and is grand the prices here are more expensive than town but 4€ for a large beer. Is nothing compared to some of the 5star prices I have paid over the years
The room had a balcony and a table and one chair !! Another Thing I couldn't understand I'm sure ther logic to it all and all a place I would recommend

We've been there many years ago, but the hotel was closed for several years and it's reopening was astonishing! Maintaining some 70's design, the new modern architecture of the common areas is very well mixed with the old one and the new bar and restaurant is one of the designs that I've seen! (got an architecture prize last year!). friendly service, good bed, large rooms, and other fixtures says that it's an hotel to revisit!

Room Tip: you can choose sea view rooms (not so quiet) and mountain rooms (very quiet)

The hotel feels quite small and intimate though there are 77 bedrooms. We thought everything was to a high standard and particularly loved the swimming pool and fabulous range of sunbeds and bean bags. We also enjoyed the terrace overlooking the pool and the cocktails! The hotel is too far out from Tavira to walk and is on a main road. There is a free shuttle but we found it was booked up very quickly. We hired a scooter which was fine but otherwise best to have a car. Tavira is a lovely town with plenty of restaurants and shops to browse in, plus a fun boat ride to the beach.
