If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue and guest accomodation then I 100% recommend the Boat Shed and Akaroa Village Inn. Kerry and team are friendly, helpful and genuinely want you to have the best wedding experience and holiday in Akaroa. The quirky charm of Boat Shed is the most amazing venue with beautiful harbour views. Friends and family enjoyed their stayed at the village inn, we were lucky enough to have the honeymoon suite, it was idyllic and romantic! Thank you Kerry for making our stay such a pleasure, much appreciated!!!

We stayed here for one night on the first day of our driving tour of New Zealand. The drive to Akaroa from Christchurch was an easy 90 minutes and it was lovely to arrive in such a picturesque village by the waterside. There was a cruise ship in the bay but after it departed, the village was peaceful and charming. We had a warm welcome from Shane at the hotel and checked into a great waterfront room above the office, with a balcony and a view of the water. The room was clean and spacious, with great facilities and very comfortable, especially after a long journey! We would highly recommend the Akaroa Village Inn for anyone looking for a very central, well located and well run hotel in Akaroa.

Akaroa was the list bit of our holiday is NZ and it was a good decision. Its a small quaint town and can get really quite during when its off season. So this is the place to relax and unwind.
The Village inn was great. Kerry and Shane were great hosts. They let us drop our baggage before and after our stay. Very kind and responsive. We were upgraded as it was low season and stayed at the historic shipping house across the road. Its a beautiful little historic building with 2 bedrooms that was renovated and given a classic modern touch.Everything was clean and well maintained. Only wish it was facing the harbor.
Amenities can easily accessed from here. 1 min to the nearest restaurant and 15 min walk to the center. Loved every bit of it and would highly recommend it to everyone.
Limited wifi is available, which can get a little frustrating but its just case all over NZ.
FYI: if you are using the french shuttle, it stops right in front of the inn.

We had a lovely stay at the Akaroa Village Inn. Despite this being an older property, the unit has been tastefully renovated and has stunning views right over the harbour and wharf. Our balcony meant we could laze away the afternoon watching the boats (and tourists) pass by. Thank you Kerry for making us so welcome.

Room Tip: Ensure you have a room on the harbour - room 64 had a balcony looking over the water.
